How to Measure your Dog for a Harness

For the best fit measure the girth of the dog, wrap a tape measure around the upper body of the dog and under the front legs. Girth will always take priority when selecting the size for a harness and all harnesses have different measurements. Each of our harness pages have a size chart you can measure against.

Fitted correctly the harness should be snug on the dog and not too tight.

How tight should a dog harness be?

You should be able to insert two fingers (but only two!) between the harness and your dog, just like with a collar.
