A slip lead is a dog lead that has a metal ring on one of the leash instead of a clip. When the lead is pulled on by dog or owner, the loop tightens.

How to use a Slip Lead.

  1. Prepare the slip lead by creating a loop large enough to pass easily over your dog’s head. Make sure the dog knows you are attempting to place a slip lead over him. Otherwise, they may begin to pull away.
  2. Quickly pass the lead over the dog’s head and use your dominant hand holding the stopper. Slide the stopper down until the slip lead is still loose, but still tight enough to not allow your dog to slip their head through.
  3. Adjust the loop size by sliding the stopper down the lead.
